While the franchising of business concepts has been part of the American economic landscape for more than 50 years, only a small portion of the legal community understands the ins and outs of this method of doing business. This course will expose you to what constitutes a franchise and how it differs from a distributorships and licenses; the federal and state franchise regulatory scheme; the Franchise Disclosure document and franchise agreement; the franchise relationship and franchise litigation; what are the most well-known franchise cases; and how franchising embraces many other legal disciplines.
