In this seminar, hear from four local attorneys whose sense of purpose has taken them far beyond their careers, and above the suggested aspirational targets.
Kevin Rardin, veteran prosecutor and Retired Lieutenant Colonel with U.S. Army
Reserves J.A.G. Corps, will share his experiences as a mentor to Afghan Army lawyers and strengthening the rule of law in Afghanistan, for which he received a Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Actions in a Combat Zone. Kevin will also discuss his upcoming pro bono efforts in Liberia as a member of Lawyers Without Borders.
Jerry Easter, U.S. Marine Corps 1967-69, will discuss his efforts as the Coordinator of Veterans’ Court, a program offering alternative treatment to arrestees who are veterans.
Attorney and pro bono award recipient Lisa Lavigne will share her experiences in the local community, including Saturday legal aid clinic, MBA Access to Justice Committee, and MALS fundraising committee.
Assistant Public Defender Josh Spickler will discuss his leadership in the Street Court Project, an innovative and successful legal clinic for the indigent, as part of Project Homeless Connect Memphis.
