How to Handle a Snake Case
|
|
Recently, several Tennesseans and citizens of Kentucky and West Virginia have died while handling poisonous snakes during religious ceremonies that have their roots in Appalachia. Although the State of Tennessee essentially outlaws such practices, they continue unabated. The issue of snake-handling has broader constitutional implications ever since the United States Supreme Court handed down the Lukimi decision. This presentation will explore the challenges faced by private and public sector attorney alike who may be called upon to litigate matters involving the First Amendment and beyond.
