Marijuana Laws, the new synthetic drug - Flakka, Heroin is back...
Marijuana Laws started changing and have increased momentum since 2012. We new have 23 medical Marijuana States and 6 Legal/Personal (recreational) use States. If we are going to drug test employees or clients for Marijuana use, don’t we need to have a test (similar to a breathalyzer for alcohol) that can tell us if the person is under the influence now? The Denver Colorado court case that posted this month states that a worker can be fired for off-duty medical marijuana use.
We know about synthetic marijuana (Spice, K2) and synthetic meth (bath salts) and have laboratory tests that can tell us if someone is using these products. What about Flakka? It is a new designer drug with a synthetic amphetamine like stimulant, that is similar to the compound contained in bath salts, also known as cathinone's. Can we test for Flakka?
Finally, if you are a parent of a teen and know about designer drugs (listed above), beware: Heroin is back and it is cheap. And, it’s now in pill form.
